STEM Academy
Olentangy’s STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) Academy students focus on education which will develop 21st-century thinking. These focus areas include critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity. These thinking capacities are cultivated through learning activities that are hands-on, relevant to local and global issues, and presented in an integrated transdisciplinary approach. Students learn how to be innovative and think like an engineer, solve real-world problems, conduct relevant research and work with professionals in a variety of STEM fields.
During the early winter each academic year, STEM staff will present a program to eighth grade students to arouse interest in the Academy. Students/Parents will fill out an application on Schoology if they wish to enter the Academy for their high school years 9-12. Keep tuned to your middle school's announcements and parent newsletters to learn the dates for the program visit, when the application will go live on our website, and application deadlines.
